The problem and Challenge
China Metal Products Co. Ltd(CMP) is a multinational group spans across several industries such as steel, real estates, and hotel. Because of its business scope spans various countries , the company has decided to unify to save all the computer logs, however the quantities of logs are massive and the cost and time required for resources was staggering, requiring a solution that could fully contain all the logs without impacting the day to day operation of the company’s network.
CMP is lack of experience in saving logs from different regions. Needed a simple and handy automated log containment solution.
The Solution
Billows’ LogMaster is a solution based on high volume data collection and has a high flexibility in deployment. Offering multi-points of containment integration to CMP, therefore collectors are deployed in multiple overseas bases. In order not to affect the network operation of Taipei headquarter, Billows deployed local log servers for integration and collection, and synchronized data during off-peak periods of network usage to ensure that there is no network delay caused by huge data amount or uncompleted log containment. At the same time, this deployment architecture also meets the needs of remote backup, each branch office kept its own log data, and the remote backup is collected by the Taipei headquarter in an unified standard.
Result & Benefit
Through the collaboration with Billows , CMP has successfully solved the problems of cost and network resource consumption caused by a massive amounts of log containment. Moreover, Billows has assisted in completing the analysis of logs data from a variety of different devices and was able to find logs for abnormal analysis through LogMaster own searching system in which has also met the standards requirement of auditing.
